WE MADE IT TO CANADA!!! YEA!!

Our day started in anticipation of Glacier Park and riding the Road to the Sun.  Gas up, go find breakfast.  Best place to eat in Kalispell, MT is Nickle Charlies!  $4.50 will get you the early bird special which includes 2 eggs any style, bacon, hash browns, pancakes and a biscuit to boot!!  That biscuit weighed about 1/2 a pound!  Now while you wait for them to bring breakfast to the table you can always walk into the next room to play the slots a little if you want.....did I mention everything in MT has a casino, even the Laundromat!

After breakfast the sky's did not look too good to us, matter of fact the direction we were headed looked very dark.  We decided to wait it out some......but the rain came and we headed to the local Harley Shop for more rain gear.  I now own a pair of duck boots.......or at least that's what they make my feet look like, but they kept them dry.  I love em!!

Now off we go to find our way around the rain, might even have to skip The Road to the Sun.....=(
God smiled on us tho, and the sky became more blue while the rain became sprinkles.  We stopped at the entrance to Glacier Park for hot coco and took a vote........yep, let's try it.

Good vote.....The Road to the Sun is beyond description!  At every turn there is a magnificent view.  The woods  are so thick with moss on the floor of the forest that it looks like lush green carpet.  The smell of the pines remind me of fresh cut Christmas trees.

And then we made it to Canada!!
But now we only have a little more than an hour before Lethbridge Harley Davidson closes because it's Saturday and they close at 4pm.  We had to wait out the rain this morning and it put us behind, but we can do it if we hurry hurry hurry!!

In Canada the first speed limit sign we see says 100 klm.........yikes, I think that's about 70 mph, but no matter, we were doing 80 mph.  Passing fields of bright yellow something........and the smell was intoxicating.  No matter tho, we are on a mission.........get there before they close at 4pm..........

At 3:59pm we pull up to a CLOSED Lethbridge Harley Davidson!!!!!

And this sign was on the door!  We find out from the girl at their shop in the Mall that THEY WENT CAMPING!!  Didn't they know we were coming all the way from Texas to get a T-shirt from their shop?
Here take this!!  Kiss my Continental Divide!!

Tomorrow we head for Billings, MT. then Sturgis, SD.  Gotta call my sweet friend Peggy to let her know when to expect us.  It will be great to see her and give a real Texas Hug!!

  1. Rosey I love the picture of the Texas Rose in front of the Alberta Rose! I laughed at you doing 80mph...100km is around 62mph I think :) The bright yellow fields are Canola and at this moment they surround my farm and yes the smell is very nice when pass by on a bike. I am so sorry about the Harley Dealer being closed. Lethbridge is small and its a long weekend in Canada this weekend. What I care about most is that you are all safe and all smiling. I heard about a grizzly attack in Yellowstone and that scared me a bit. I am thoroughly enjoying your blog and the wonderful pictures. The lovely moon at the end is quite interesting. Keep writing, I am enjoying this. Waving goodbye from Alberta!
